A week after the earthquake and tsunami, doctorSHARE as an organization focused on health services and humanitarian assistance fielded volunteers for the earthquake and tsunami disaster in Central Sulawesi.
doctorSHARE fielded two fleets of volunteers consisting of two doctors, two nurses, two non-medical volunteers, and 1 trauma healer to provide health care and trauma treatment for children the evacuation shelters. Team served the earthquake victims in evacuation shelters since Friday, December 9, 2016.
In order to conduct more medical service missions, doctorSHARE is planning to add another boat to its floating hospital fleet which will be given the name RSA Nusa Waluya II. RSA is the abbreviation for “Rumah Sakit Apung”, which means “Floating Hospital” in the English language. The secretary general of doctorSHARE, Dr. Marselina Mieke, stated that the RSA Nusa Waluya II currently is still in the stage of fundraising. It is necessary to gather at least IDR 16.6 billion which is about 1.2 million US$ to build doctorSHARE’s third floating hospital.
From the 17th to the 24th of July 2016, a team from doctorSHARE was on a medical service mission with the Floating Hospital “Dr. Lie Dharmawan” (Indonesian: Rumah Sakit Apung, RSA) at North Halmahera, North Maluku. The RSA docked at Dama Harbour on Doi Island.
doctorSHARE and EKADHARMA launched RSA Nusa Waluya I, Indonesia’s 2nd privately operated floating hospital, on June 1st, 2015. Upon launch, the hospital will immediately participate as part of the Ekspedisi Nusantara Jaya event. The launch take place at the Komando Lintas Laut Militer (Kolinlamil), Jalan Raya Pelabuhan Pos 9, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta.
Our vision said that it is a must for us helping those vulnerable people, while day by day is passing through in this year, doctorSHARE has done several social medical activities, such as free medication, counseling, and some other humanism mission with a good association with others.
On Saturday, April 30, 2011, doctorSHARE and Care Channels Indonesia visited communities in Pasar Baru, Tangerang, Banten. Our visit was in the context of counseling and medical examination for second time.
On Saturday, April 9, 2011, we held health guidance and periodic examinations in Kampung Sawah, Semper, North Jakarta. The participants are dr. Grace Shalmont, Michael Shalmont and Briggitte K. Chandrawidjaya.
On Saturday, February 12, 2011, doctorSHARE, Care Channels Indonesia and GBI Ciluar cooperate to hold a social service to provide free medical for people in Ciluar, Bogor, West Java and surrounding areas.
